1) Wash your hands. Especially after contact with high-traffic surfaces: door knobs, public-use writing instruments, lavatory ware, elevator buttons, shopping cart handles, hand-shaking, etc. Not to be pedantic but apparently the habit of hand washing is a little out of vogue even amongst doctors. Here’s an interesting article on the subject that I found in Ethics Soup.

…and avoid inoculating yourself. Viruses get in to your system best throught your nose, eyes, and mouth. Do not put your fingers in there. Very simple.

My dad always used to say: “If you haven’t washed your hands you can only touch your eyes with your elbows!”
